This evening I finally made myself go to Zollamt Berlin-Schöneberg to pick up my sister's Christmas present. The setting couldn't have been more lovely and after waiting for two hours, only our president's portrait kept me from squaring the customs official (who even made me pay taxes for the freaking shipping!). A moral authority, indeed.
