The past week has been nerve-breaking, holding some extra portions of bad luck and chaos ins store for us. Anton decided to be cranky and winy too, so I had to pull myself together not to burst out in tears a few times. It seems as if he's gotten over a phase of mental and physical growth and possibly even teething now, but it wasn't easy, I tell you.

Getting a visa for India is quite a task to fullfill aswell. So much paperwork, organizing and printing... Though we're getting excited (and a bit anxious) over here, and we just hope we can get all our stuff together before that first big journey.

Can't wait for warm temperatures, crazy flavours, bright colours and all. It's been so long.

We've grooved into 2013, dealing with some troubling news along the way, found back into a daily routine, back to some work, long walks and some baby dates. Mini-me is considered the most calm baby alive by most people who've met him and we do love the silence, the giggles and smiles and enjoy up to 10 hours of uninterrupted sleep while it lasts.

We've been experimenting with date nights and found it to be no problem at all to leave Anton with a babysitter, we started cooking more (and healthier) and I have lost about half of my hair.

Along the way, I am planning our trip to India in March, wondering whether to fly Aeroflot or not, to fly non-stop or via stop-over, where to go when we are there, and how adventurous our first adventure could and should be.

I am optimistic and happy and can't wait for new horizons to be explored. And I do see a spark of excitement in Anton's big, dark eyes as well. I cannot wait to show the world to him.

Welcome to 2013. Last week we celebrated New Year's at my friends place, with good food, wine and fireworks, made long walks by the river, visited Anton's greatgrandmother, slept a lot, ate well and flew back home to Berlin.

The holidays were a beautiful but very stressful time - with so much family and friends wanting to see Anton for the first time. He's drowning in toys and stuffed animals now and a pro in staying relaxed while his parents were close to nervous breakdowns. We'll need to learn to say no eventually. Yet being home was wonderful, with passionate grandparents around and my little darling siblings caring for my baby. I gained at least 1.000.000 kilograms and will need to start a serious post-baby-and-post-holiday-diet soon.

A few months ago when I was heavily pregnant with mini-me (seems like years ago, actually...), I took photos of my friend and stunning actress >>Bea Brocks<< for her portfolio. Never got to show these, so here they are.

I'm still home and we're having high water by the rhine river. It looks so beautiful that we go on walks a lot, with levels rising and declining, forming new, beautiful landscapes every day.

My friends and I decided to stay home for New Year's, we're having a simple, delicious dinner with good wine and champagne, with a bit of private fireworks and not much more. What a beautiful end to a silent, slow, yet beautiful year with one big, unquestionable highlight: Anton.

To all of you, have a wonderful start into 2013 tonight and I promise to catch up on the blog in the beginning of the year.

We're home and it's lovely, having a whole bunch of (great) grandparents, aunts and uncles around. I don't have real internet here and I kind of enjoy it, so I'll post photos and stories later this week.
