Boutique Barbara.

This weekend I went on a trip to Heidelberg. Besides a little bit of sightseeing, tons of good food, lots of beer and wine I had the exceptional pleasure to visit this magificent "young lady" (soon to be 94!) in her apartment for 60 years on saturday and sunday.

Barbara studied art and lived a wild dada-live in 1920's & 30's Berlin before she decided to move down south, raise a family and later open up Heidelberg's hot spot to shop and gossip: "Boutique Barbara". Though the shop closed down in the 1980's and Barbara got retired, she is still here - and with her the inventory of a life-time, hundreds of drawings and a whole jungle full of green plants that she treats with all her love.

I now own a great collection of old leather purses, wallets, some "hooker underwear I (Barbara) can't wear anymore" and a big pile of fashion drawings from the 1930's. I am crazy in love and have to share this with you. A video (!) of her sales qualities soon to come.

Some fresh wind.

I finally got to edit the layout of my blog. No big changes, just a little bit of adjustment of things that annoyed me for ages but I never got to fix them. I would really love to change the font as well, but haven't found one looking good on here. Doing these slight changes took me a lifetime, I really do have to dip back into html and css (haven't done it in way too long). Now that my text is justified I will also have to adjust all my old posts, but that's gonna be done another day!

I'm quite stressed right now with a lot of have-to-dos, but hope to have more pictures to show very soon. There are piles on my harddrives, but I just don't have the patience to sort in and out anymore (did that all week and the week before that, the result will be available for download very soon). The tax lady is also knocking on my door, so that's the next big (and annoying) thing to do. $"§$%&

I also updated my >>sale<< page. If you want to buy prints, be quick, prices may rise within the next weeks, as some people have told me I am selling for too cheap.

If you do stumble over a flight Berlin to Skopje or NYC for - let's say - less than 200€, I'm absolutely in, so let me >>know<<!

Another thing I'm planning to do is to write more on my blog again and also post some old pictures in combination with old stories. I realized this blog is precious to remember things and I also really suffer from not writing as many stories on a regular basis anymore (I did study journalism and not photography). This will change from today on.

As you see, I am going very optimistic in the new year. I have put a lot of things together and thought about a lot of stuff over the past two weeks!

Everything else (mostly positive stuff) that's new is still a secret to be kept. So stay with me.

Above you can see my new favorite duos of old photos, I decided to get the croco and the flower on huge prints and put them on the wall over my bed. Good night.

Joy.

Some time last summer actress Joy Maria Bai and I went on a stroll on the Jewish Cemetary in Prenzlauer Berg to take pictures. For some reason I never got to show these. Here they are.

Norman.

Last week I finally went back to taking portraits of people and came across Norman, an old acquaintance, friend and founder of >>i-ref magazine<<. I really love these photos and am happy that as now that it's getting a bit warmer in Berlin this is gonna become more of my every day business again. Enjoy.

A book.

Time is running, all of the sudden life and work and stress have gotten me back. Wondering what I'm doing today? I'm making a book!

Horses and fog.

When I was a kid, like every girl, I was dreaming of having my own pony. I was going to built a wagon and take that twin set to school every day. Unfortunately my parents weren't great fans of my plans. Well, this fall my stepmother decided to buy a horse. This is where it lives in lovely fog.

Happy 2011.

Just found out some terrible news from my Amercian host family, so my year actually sucks already, but I was still going to wish you all a happy 2011!

Happy Holidays.

Every time I'm home I get tangled in a vacuum of online communication. As there is no wifi and the intercompatibility of my mom's and my computer is rather bad, it's a pain to transfer photos from one to the other. After nine days of silence I actually made it and am glad to wish you all some belated happy holidays and great shift of years. I have some magical impressions of winter wonderland landscapes, but this might as well take another year to transfer.
