Last Monday I was taking photos for a friend when my camera suddenly wouldn't trigger anymore. I went home in a shock without saying bye to anyone, getting a huge thing of fries on the way, being puzzled.

The next day I realized in tears that it really happened and have been desperately camera-less ever since. If anyone wants to give away their Pentax for free or cheap, I'm in. Preferably K10d, K20d or K7. I will need it very soon.

The New Yorker is a species of it's own kind. Even visitors of the city seem to mutate into something unique here and absorb the magic. They start running, suffering and enjoying just like the real ones. Here's a selection of my favourite New Yorkers, enjoying theirselves or struggling with the challenges of their amazing city.

The only really rainy day in New York I used to do the really touristy stuff. The Empire State Building was surrounded by fog and I was almost by myself up there. Lovely.

Whenever I go elsewhere I feel most ashamed about my co-Germans. These tourists going crazy on Wall Street in the rain were quite lovely anyway.

In April the sun came out and I climbed up on the roof with Friedi. Guess who won the smiling-competition against the sun!?

Leaving New York is never easy. I got back to Berlin this morning, fought a liquid war against the jetlag (in words: coffee!) and broke all records in yawning to make it through the day. And now? Now, I can't sleep.

I guess I'll just never sleep again then. I miss New York.

Before leaving for my New York City Trip I spent a whole rainy afternoon with this lovely young lady. The tomato girl is still my favourite picture of actress Klara Manzel, but not the only one I fell in love with.
